That's right. You need less force. When you have both hands you decrease the amount of force instead of increasing it. Each hand works as a balance for the other. When you need to steer suddenly, one hand makes you steer too much, too sharply and all over the place. Go for a run of a SkidCar or a lap around a nearby racetrack and you will see the car going all over the place when there is only one hand on the wheel. If you do want to remove one hand, the opposite palm is best left in either 9 or 3 accordingly.
