My first car was a 1954 chevrolet 4 door sedan 6 cylinder 3 speed manual. My Father gave it to me when I was 13 y/o. We lived on a dead end gravel road and I was allowed to drive it up and down this road. Before I turned 14 y/o I had my first job which payed an hourly wage. Part of this job involved driving military surplus Jeeps towing irrigation pipe trailers. This was legal if we stayed on agricultural property.

At the age of 14 I was able to get a non agriculteral or food services work permit. I worked at a grocery store saved my money and at the age of 15 bought my first car. 1963 Pontiac Bonneville convertible. 421 cubic inch, three 2bbl carbs, 380hp, 4 speed hydromatic transmission. Perfect car for a 15 y/o!!! I paid cash ($900) so at that time I was able to title, license, and insure the car in my name!

I am now on my 42nd car plus three small pick-up trucks and three motorcycles. I have always bounced between muscle cars, hot rods, and sports cars. In the later part of my senior year of high school I discovered what I call "balanced" cars. Light weight, adequate power, and superior cornering ability. I still love them. 1960 Austin Healey Sprite Mk I, 1964 Austin Healey Sprite Mk II, 1960 MGA 1600 Roadster, 1962 MGA 1600 Mk II coupe, 1966 MGB, 1981 Fiat X-1/9, 1981 Mazda RX-7, 1996 Mazda Miata, 1991 Mazda RX-7. These are just the tip of the iceburg of cool automobiles. I feel I have been extremely blessed in vehicle ownership. I wish I had been able to keep all of them.

If I can guess, this would be a 380hp convertible. Such cars leave a huge impression on a young mind LOL.
