My third car is my second Civic. When I moved to US, I was absolutely certain what car I was buying. 92-95 Civic Si. I still consider this car to be the most beautiful Civic ever made, and one of the most beautiful cars overall.

So, I set off and pretty fast found one from private party for reasonable money, and proceeded to buy it. My first two cars were ”exotic”, and this one followed the suit – it is Canadian, so living in US I have speedometer marked in km/h and daytime running light. And I have some rust, too. Coming from Moscow, where all used cars are more or less rusted, I did not realize that here I can buy one completely without rust, so I did not pay much attention to the small amount of rust.

For several years it was my only car, we had a lot of adventures together, it took a fair amount of abuse from my wife learning how to drive and from bad mechanics. I had to replace some things along the road, though. Some of them due to normal wear, some due to bad mechanics, and some due to my negligence. I did replace distributor, ECM, driveshafts, rubber parts in suspension – and that’s pretty much it, not counting consumables like wipers and brake pads. It has 220000 km on odometer now.

I still have it sitting on my driveway. I don’t have much use for it now, but I hate selling my cars, so it acts as occasional spare car for my family and friends, as a toy for my younger son, and as a shelter for mice sometimes.

I think the Canadian SIs have the same engine as US EX models with a bit less power but better gas milage. I'm glad you returned to the fold with another civic though Cool
