I'm thinking about making a video series "Driving with Misha". The idea is that I just drive and comment on what is going on on the road. I think it is going to be much better than a dry lecture on defensive driving. I have a wealth of information in my head, but it's a kind of tricky to get it from there when I'm sitting at my workstation and typing. Everchanging road situations usually trigger the memories, and information should be better consumed in relation to what happens on the screen (or I hope so).
I'm posting the test episode that I just filmed today on my way to the city center, and I welcome and solicit any comments/suggestions/ideas that can help to make this video better, more enjoyable, and more educational. I'm looking for a wide angle lens for my camcorder already, you don't need to mention this I think I'm getting an external mic, too - the kind you clip to the clothes close to your throat.
Please note, that for some reason camera distorts the distance to the car in front. When I was talking about distance at stoplight, in reality there was around five feet between my bumper and the bumper of the car in front of me.
Video is located H E R E . It is optimised for 340Kb streaming, so those with dial-up access may want to right-click and download it.
Enjoy! |
